Of course, Hart's Holt does not stand alone. Our neighbour to the East is the Shire of Flintheath (a “Shire” is a local SCA group), while the Shire of Thamesreach to the South encompasses London within the bounds of the M25.

All local groups in the UK, Ireland and Iceland are part of the Principality of Insulae Draconis, which is ruled by a Prince and Princess.

Together with the whole of Europe as well as South Africa and the Middle East, we are part of the Kingdom of Drachenwald, which is presided over by a King and Queen.

Princes and Princesses, Kings and Queens are traditionally chosen by combat, and reign for six or nine months.

All kingdoms are part of the Known World of the Society of Creative Anachronism.

The great thing about the SCA being a world-wide organisation is that wherever you go, there will be people who are part of it, or "play the game", as we say, and you will be able to make new friends within this all-ages social group.
